Back in 2017 Mat Fraser (4x Fittest on Earth) was interviewed by Tim Ferris for his book Tribe of Mentors. During that interview he was asked the question “What purchase of $100 or less has most positively impacted your life in the last six months (or in recent memory)?”
This was his answer:
Fraser, Mathew: Without a doubt, I would say my dawn simulator [Philips Wake-Up Light] is the biggest positive influence in my life. It is an alarm clock that wakes you up with light instead of sound. Because of this change, you feel as if you are waking up on your own, and are not groggy.
This interview was actually how we first found out about Sunrise Alarm Clocks (also known as Wake-Up Lights or Dawn Simulators) and their benefits for sleep, performance and overall wellbeing.
If you are looking for a range of other Sunrise Alarm Clocks that are currently on the market you can check out our article where we list the 5 Best Sunrise Alarm Clocks Available in 2021.
In September 2020 Mat competed in the first stage of the 2020 CrossFit Games and the Buttery Bros were visiting to document his performance. When they released the video (below) we were excited to see Mat show Marston and Heber his sunrise alarm and how it works. Here is the direct link to that part of the video:
It's awesome to see that during Mat Frasers's now 5 year winning streak of the CrossFit Games he has been using a Wake-Up Light every morning!
In the video he also went through his night time ritual using Beam's Dream CBD Powder and ensuring his phone is turned off by 10pm.
